Windows 10 How To Turn Off Touchpad

I understand your concern most disabling the touchpad later Windows Update, do let us know the following to assist you better:

1. Are you referring to November Update?
2. What is the make and model of your device?
3. Do you accept any issues with functionality of Touchpad?
4. Where exactly were you lot trying to search for disable option?

This issue might take happened because of corrupted/ outdated touchpad drivers after the update.

If you are unable to access touchpad, I suggest you to connect an external mouse to try the below.

Step 1: Follow the below steps for search for the disable option and try to turn if off.

1. Press Windows + Ten keys from the keyboard and click on Control Panel.

2. Click on Mouse.

3. On the Device Settings tab of the Mouse Backdrop screen, click the Disable button to turn off the Touchpad.

4. Restart the system and cheque.

Step ii:  Update the Touchpad drivers.

1. Press Windows primal + X cardinal when you are at desktop.
2. Select Device Manager .
3. Expand Mice and other pointing devices.
4. Right click on each of the drivers and click on Update commuter software.

Also, try to search for the drivers from Manufacturer's website and try to install the drivers.

I am referring to the November update, but I was out of the land and unable to update information technology until today.  At that place is no problem with touchpad functionality that I am currently aware of.  I tin not DISABLE the touchpad, which I need to do.  I desire to apply merely my external mouse.   I went to Device settings and Mouse Properties- there is no disable choice. Further, the Fn+F9 keys, that usually toggle this function, do non work anymore.   I already checked the drivers.  They are upwardly to appointment.  This happened immediately afterwards the update.  I already had a working windows 10.  Why would I coil back to windows 8??

I am using an ASUS Convertible laptop Q551L

Nevermind.  I found a set up online.  I uninstalled the driver for the mouse/touchpad and immediately restarted the computer.  The driver is re-installed in this process.  Strangely, I had to do this twice before the fix worked.  Now the keyboard toggle keys piece of work great.  Hopefully this will help others with a like problem.
